چکیده

Abstract The early life programming of adult health and disease (Developmental Origins Adult Health Disease; DOHaD) concept has attracted increased attention during recent years. In this review evidence is presented for epidemiological associations between factors (birth weight, prematurity) cardiometabolic traits risk in life. Even if not all studies concur, the general supporting such links. This could be due to either nature or nurture. There state that genetic markers influencing birth weight also importance offspring hypertension coronary heart disease, argument. On other hand, several studies, both historical experimental, have found change maternal dietary intake famine pregnancy may cause permanent changes body composition as well hemodynamic regulation. Taken together, supports strategy preventive child care, starting already preconception period, lowering affected offspring. Further are needed better understand mediating mechanisms, example concerning arterial function, regulation, renal neuroendocrine influences, related development vascular aging (EVA) cardiovascular manifestations.

Early-life events. Effects on aging.

During the last two decades, a considerable body of evidence has emerged showing that circumstances during the fetal period and childhood may have lifelong programming effects on different body functions with a considerable impact on disease susceptibility. From a medical point of view, these long-term effects are today referred to as the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) conc...

Genetic and epigenetic catalysts in early-life programming of adult cardiometabolic disorders

Evidence has emerged across the past few decades that the lifetime risk of developing morbidities like type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease may be influenced by exposures that occur in utero and in childhood. Developmental abnormalities are known to occur at various stages in fetal growth. Epidemiological and mechanistic studies have sought to delineate developmental processes a...

Paternal programming of offspring cardiometabolic diseases in later life

Early - intrauterine - environmental factors are linked to the development of cardiovascular disease in later life. Traditionally, these factors are considered to be maternal factors such as maternal under and overnutrition, exposure to toxins, lack of micronutrients, and stress during pregnancy. However, in the recent years, it became obvious that also paternal environmental factors before con...

Early vascular aging (EVA): consequences and prevention

It has often been recognized that a discrepancy exists during the clinical consultation between the chronological age of a patient on the one hand with the signs and symptoms of biological age that can be recorded on the other hand. In cardiovascular medicine this is obvious when a heavy smoker presents with features of early biological aging, for example skin appearance and impaired lung funct...
